Current responsibilities:

  • Organization of FLD’s/on farm demonstrations as well as Krishi Mela in farmers fields in Solapur district (Extension)
  • Conducting rabi sorghum demonstration for popularization of sorghum at premises of CRS Solapur (Extension)
  • Organization of end specific product on farm production in farmers fields jointly with KVK in Solapur district (Research & Extension)
  • Organization of entrepreneurship training programme for farm women jointly with KVK (This will be finalized in consultation with KVK Solapur) (Extension).

Recent 3 major contributions:

  • Imparted training cum orientation to 1000 kharif & rabi farmers per year in Adilabad/Nanded and Parbhani districts through PPP mode jointly with ITC from 2008 to 2012
  • Popularized CSH-16 improved cultivation by using marketing technique through DCMS in Ranga Reddy district
  • Organised 19 training programs to state level extension functionaries, farmers and private personnel under CET/NTC/MTC/HRD on kharif & sorghum production technology and value-addition and commercialization through alternate uses of sorghum and sweet sorghum for bio-ethanol production

Recent awards and recognitions:

  • Recognition from Ministry of Agriculture & ICAR for the successful implementation of first extension innovation in India on kharif & rabi sorghum on end specific product on farm production through PPP mode jointly with ITC, Ltd. under NAIP sub-project on “millets foods value chain on large scale” in Adilabad, Nanded and Parbhani districts from 2008 to 2012 which lead to grant of INSIMP project by MOA
  • First time in the history of DSR successfully organized four kharif & rabi sorghum production, utilization & value addition two days farmers training programs at DSR, Hyderabad for 38 farmers +2 ITC Extension staff per program jointly with ITC Ltd. during 2010 to 2012 under NAIP sub-project on “Millets foods value chain”
  • Received recognition for popularization of CSH-16 improved cultivation by using marketing technique through DCMS in Ranga Reddy district
  • Organized successfully Farmers rally cum training program on rabi sorghum cultivation in rice fallows in Guntur district

  • Organization of end specific product on farm production in farmers fields jointly with KVK in Solapur district (Research & Extension)
  • Popularization of rabi sorghum production technologies and value added sorghum food products among the farmers & farm women jointly with KVK in Solapur district through short listed /appropriate extension strategies like lectures, exposure to exhibitions, distribution of literature etc. (Extension)
  • Organization of entrepreneurship training programme for farm women jointly with KVK (Extension)
